Blog Info

I love Castles, History and Archaeology, If I could have my time again I would train to be a Archaeologist!
I am a keen artist and traveller, I seek adventure however I am also disabled and a dog owner.

So I thought it would be a neat idea to have a blog that I could share some photos of my castle hunting adventures and basic info on these sites from a disabled, dog owning artist!

Cadw Offers Disabled people and there companion Free access to there sites, If you have any problems, attitude or access on this generous offer make sure you contact Cadw so they can improve.

I have only provided basic info as there are enough sites on the net to give you this information.

This Castle Wales Site is brilliant, I have used it time and time again, even writing to the makers to compliment them

Goodrich Castle

Goodrich Castle

Parking is available is car park with fee of £1 or free if you park right outside the visitors centre but explain when you go in to pay that your disabled, if you have real limited walking mobility there are 2 spaces right by the castle saving a 300 yard walk.
The staff were really friendly and lovely towards me so much so I wrote to English Heritage to tell them about my great experience.
Dog allowed on Leads
Lovely toilets in the visitors centre
There's also a great little cafĂ© too serving usual cream teas but also soup and sandwiches
The castle has a few steps once inside but you can really get a great feel for this castle without having to over strain your self.
A few places to sit, some indoor bits if the weather catches you out, This castle really invited you to slow down ponder, sketch, draw and enjoy.
